How the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Program Works

  • Victorian Government: Provides rebates and incentives through the VEU program to promote energy efficiency in households and businesses.
  • Energy Retailers: Buy VEECs (Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates) created by Accredited Persons (APs) and surrender them to the government to meet their legislative requirements.
  • Accredited Persons (APs): Create VEECs by delivering energy-efficient product upgrades to households and businesses, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Households and Businesses: Receive subsidized energy-efficient product upgrades, leading to significant energy savings.
  • Reduced Energy Bills: Households and businesses experience a noticeable reduction in energy costs after installing subsidized energy-efficient products.
  • Lower Emissions: LED lighting and efficient appliances installed through the VEU program reduce greenhouse gas emissions, contributing to a greener environment.
